The last two sentences of the penultimate paragraph (see below) are nonsensical and should be deleted.

While his models of semantic cogniton and specific knowledge in a diversity of learned domains using initially non-hierarchical neuron-like processing units continue to inspire scientists in fields as diverse as artificial intelligence, anthropology, and information and decision science, his knowledge of specific living forms in 2004 reached the absolute basic level (plant, animal). Arguably no one contributed more, in recent times, to specific knowledge about living things.
