Suggestions for improvement
I have just completed a review of this article and promoted it from Stub to Start class as I feel that there is now enough content to meet that classification level. I feel that the article could be further improved, however, by addressing the following issues:
- Coverage: the article needs to be expanded more to provide a bit more biographical information (e.g. in the Early life section, include
date and place of birth, possibly who his parents were, etc). Also Warner's IPL and English County career could be expanded a bit. - Structure: I'm new to the cricket project so don't know the accepted structure yet, but I feel that maybe the early life section should be discussed first before the cricket career section. It would seem to make sense to discuss first things first, but I might be wrong.
- Citations: the article is generally well cited, but there are a couple of points that require citations (I have put the citation needed tags where I feel they are needed). Additionally it would probably improve the lay out if the the {{cite web}} format was added to the web citations.
Just a few suggestions. If these can be added in the article would probably be able to be promoted to a C or maybe even a B class article. Hope this helps. Cheers. — AustralianRupert (talk) 23:35, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
Bowling style
David Warner clearly bowled an over at medium pace in the second test, on day 1. "David Warner comes on. Looks like he's going to bowl seam-up." ESPNcricinfo commentary at the time! Why the hell can't be added, absolutely bemused right now JustPlaneEditing (talk) 09:26, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
- Because one delivery (or even one over) doesn't make him a medium pace bowler. Steve Smith has bowled a couple of overs of off-spin in first class cricket, but he's still a leg-spin bowler. In any case, you need a reliable source stating that Warner is now a medium pace bowler. StAnselm (talk) 09:38, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
- But in other matches, he bowled medium pace, actually I reckon the ratio of him bowling spin and medium is 2:1. and How can I source them? JustPlaneEditing (talk) 09:43, 19 December 2014 (UTC)

- Hmm, I see what you mean.[1][2][3] - @AssociateAffiliate: that looks good enough to me. StAnselm (talk) 09:56, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
- Sure StAnselm, they are matches of status (well minus the 2-day match), so it can now be added as it is becoming a more regular bowling style used by Warner; wish he would stick to leg-spin, he's much better at that! PinchHittingLeggy (talk) 19:42, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks. Looks like we have consensus - I have added it in to the article. StAnselm (talk) 20:44, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
- Good job guys and same here, I also wish he stuck to his leggies!JustPlaneEditing (talk) 21:35, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
