editThis page needs serious work. I don't have time now, but I'll come back to it in a week or so. The Ungovernable Force 03:57, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
I'm so sorry it looks so bad. I will put some time in during Spring Break (4/8-16) to clean it up. At the time it was just a partner project, but I feel that this school deserves more respect that it recieved by my article. I apologise sincerely.
- don't feel too bad, a lot of the school articles aren't good. Anyways, I never came back to fix it like I said I would, so yeah. Do you go there? The Ungovernable Force 00:15, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, I actually go to the school that is on the campus of DHS, DaVinci. One of the projects that we were to complete was either a completely new Wiki page, or making dramatic fixes. We figured that it would be a good idea to make our high School have a page. We sort of worked quickly through it, so that explains the lack of structure. There has been no approvement of this DHS page happening, so I don't know if anyone knows about it yet. My homework over Spring Break has been dramatic, so I will get to it when I can. I have to do 10 reading chapters, take 50 points of notes on each, and every chapter takes at least 3 hours to get through. So much fun... Thanks for the support! - I will go to the office this week and perhaps find out a little more about the school. There is absolutely nothing out on the web, so it would probably be best to go out and find something that is hard evidence. Iheartflutes 18:11, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
I am considering eliminating the "2005-2006 Course Offerings" section because it is almost entirely unverifiable and superfluous. It will also change every year and require a lot of original research to keep up to date. Finally, while perhaps mentioning some special programs or classes unique to Davis High might be encyclopedic, an entire course catalogue is not. As a DHS grad (1997), I'll try and fill it out with more verifiable, encyclopedic information, but I think I'm going to delete the "course offerings" section unless someone objects. Thanks, Sansbras 00:48, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
school killing section
editI agree that this is probably something that should be mentioned in this article, but the statement almost seems to be completely blaming the white students, and while I was not around at the time, I have heard it was not quite that simple. I think the section needs to be expanded a little bit to make it seem a little less one-sided. Heavy Metal Cellisttalkcontribs
I was there and saw this fight happen. It was a bit more than Hunyh getting stabbed after being taunted by white students. Hunyh was not involved with the initial fight and was coming to the aid of one of his friends who was being racially taunted by a white student when he was stabbed by Jay Pierman. This part should be re-written (editing a bit myself) and linked to a better source (the UC Davis article now leads to an error). At any rate, is this the best that can be said about DHS in the events section? Very weak. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 155.56.68.217 (talk) 09:24, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
Assessment
editStart class, it is a pretty weak start class article. Although the sections do direct the reader, they are in some cases a bit crufty, and dont say that much about the school. Significant improvements needed. Low importance too.Twenty Years 02:42, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
