Tweaked a bit, but what's it really about?
editI tweaked this article a bit; I also added a rough-n-ready Taxo box, as if this article was about the Bryophyta genus Dawsonia.
But almost all of the information in the article is really about the near-vascular stem of the Dawsonia AND of related genus Polytrichum, as well as, possibly, of other Polytrichales. I wonder if someone meant to write an article on that point, not the genus Dawsonia per se. In that case, I wonder if this article should be retitled and moved, or perhaps the--rewritten--information should be moved to the article on Polytrhichales, and whatever's left--my bare-bones taxo box and, what else?--would remain here as a bare-bones stub on the genus. Moss vascular systems
editVarious questions. Does Dawsonia have vascular systems in the gametophyte as well as in the sporophyte? and is the illustration of the gametophyte or the sporophyte? Presumably if it has leaf traces it is of the gametophyte. If so, are the Polytrichales unique in having vascular tissue in the gametophytes? Plantsurfer (talk) 19:49, 3 March 2013 (UTC)
That picture--correct?
editIs someone sure that the photo is really Dawsonia? I don't know Dawsonia, or the related mosses. But whatever that is, it looks awfully woody for a moss. Uporządnicki (talk) 15:51, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, it is good. Plantsurfer (talk) 16:12, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
