- ... that with his song "Daylight", David Kushner (pictured) wanted to use the elements of light and darkness to convey a paradoxical desire for something that is harmful to oneself? Source: Broadway World
- ALT1: ... that David Kushner based the story of his song "Daylight" on biblical references that inspired him as a child? Source: Paper
- Reviewed: Template:Did you know nominations/Protection Court
- Comment: should ideally appear with the image, as Kushner's bio is one of the two articles nominated and the image is high quality.

- I am willing to review, but have no time for thorough reading right now. Fast note: the nice image is in none of the articles. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:37, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
- I fixed a typo in the hook, and wonder why we'd need "simultaneously". --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:39, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for reviewing this, Gerda. I've added the image and removed "simultaneously". The hooks can be found in the song article for now. Not sure if it's a requirement to have them in both nominated articles but I could add them to the other one if necessary. Regards.--NØ 12:32, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
- Fine, thank you. I read the articles now, both on good sources, no copyvio obvious. The image is licensed and a good illustration. Perhaps add a year to the caption? - Suggestions for the articles (not needed for DYK): The lead should be a summary, not a repetition of the body. Do we know more about his biblical inspiration? If not, I'd not go for ALT1 because it raises interest that will not be satisfied in the article. What I don't like in ALT0 is that it's about the author's intentions more than any facts. Perhaps a completely different hook - but only if you like. - Anyway, I think a year would be a good idea for all hooks. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:23, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
- I have now added new information to the article about the biblical allusions, in case that's what's holding this up? I've added the year to the caption, not sure where it's supposed to go in the hooks but the promotor can add those if they wish. Note: If the dimensions of this particular image are weird to go on the main page, there's another really good one on Kushner's bio that's more straight.--NØ 21:06, 20 May 2023 (UTC)

- I am reversing the promotion on this per this discussion. The author is requesting that the image be used with th hook. --evrik (talk) 20:38, 12 June 2023 (UTC)
- The images were taken by the subject's manager and I do not suspect that they are not free. The one consideration is that the second image offered here must be in the article in order to be used in DYK. I have added it to the article. Bruxton (talk) 14:17, 16 June 2023 (UTC)
