Co-designer
edit- Leishman, Gordon J (2006). Principles of helicopter aerodynamics. Cambridge University Press. ISBN 0521858607. pp. 25-26
says that machine had a co-designer, someone Ivan Jerome, and then calls their contraption "Jerome-de Bothezat quadrotor or the "Flying Octopus"". This might be worth more research; I'm not sure how it can be integrated in the article as it stands now. East of Borschov (talk) 07:43, 10 May 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for finding that! I noticed one mention of Ivan in my books. I think I know how to work that in... - The Bushranger Return fireFlank speed 13:50, 10 May 2010 (UTC)
FYI, I put together George de Bothezat. Quite a colourful chap. East of Borschov (talk) 16:37, 10 May 2010 (UTC)
- Quite so. Great work, too! I've added your article to the DYK hook for this one. :) - The Bushranger Return fireFlank speed 03:34, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
Not to cast aspersions on the sources but
editI'm not aware of any Le Rhone radials, only the rotaries. Do the sources give any particulars as to number of cylinders etc? GraemeLeggett (talk) 14:05, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
- Hm. I wondered about that. What I saw described the 180hp engine as "radial" - perhaps it was a Gnome-Rhône instead of a Le Rhône? Or maybe it was simply one of those errors that gets passed around. I'll see what I can dig up. (Thanks for the Flight link, BTW!) - The Bushranger Return fireFlank speed 14:33, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
- Flight says 170 hp Le-Rhône, not saying rotary or radial. The Le-Rhòne 9R seems to fit the bill.TSRL (talk) 17:29, 18 May 2014 (UTC)
