Definition?
So many papers use De = Re.sqrt(a/R), a being the radius of the pipe; others use 2Re.sqrt(a/R), others still other variations (using diameter, corresponding to one of these two or not). Berger (ref #1) does a background check on this inconsistency, but his paper is quite old. The "common" definition is hardy the one defined in Dean's papers anyway - he defined his constant as 2(a/Rc).Re^2 - so I think it is a fair compromise to keep here one that is of common usage today and still equivalent to (the square root of) Dean's 1928 definition.
This matter probably deserves a section in this article...
