History section

edit

What was the rationale for the deletion of this (fully sourced) section? Unless someone gets back to me I will restore it. Confusing. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 02:39, 9 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Guys, anyone knows why the "edit" option keeps falling on the "history" part?

Sources

edit

Please, Stop citing Tripod. They're NOT reliable source at all. Only Doom-Metal.Com are reliable source for death/doom or doom metal in generally. And Therion never was death/doom. And lot more bands in the lists are definitely NOT doom metal at all. See WP:RS.

First off, I agree about Tripod. But why do you regard doom-metal.com as a reliable source? It seems much like metal-archives.com to be yet another fan run site, regardless of how useful it is. Surely, for this page a reliable source is going to be published in book form or at least in a well-known magazine like Terrorizer? Blackmetalbaz (talk) 15:24, 12 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bit of an edit

edit

I've tried to edit this article to make it look a bit more encyclopedic with references and whatnot. I heavily trimmed the band list. Even what I've left looks a bit unwieldy, but I've taken 'notable bands' to be those recently featured in Terrorizer's Doom Metal Special under its sections on death/doom. This is currently my primary reference, but I'll try and find some others that don't include websites like metal-archives or doom-metal.com. The list doesn't really want to get bigger, but if someone wants to set up a category for 'List of Death/Doom Bands' feel free, so other bands (which have wikipedia pages!) can be added to that rather than the main page. I put a tag on the list saying don't add bands that don't have pages; I know there's a couple on there which don't at the moment, but I'm going to get round to writing ones for Dream Death and Korpse later on. The page still needs some working on, but I hope this looks a bit better! Blackmetalbaz (talk) 17:39, 12 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Doom/death

edit

Isn't death/doom also abbreviated "doom/death"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.114.154.210 (talk) 12:12, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unexplained move

edit

This page was moved from 'death/doom' to 'death doom metal', with no explanation, discussion or source. I have reverted it. If moves like that are going to be effected, then some discussion should be had here first. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 21:36, 3 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Lop-sided

edit

This article is really lop-sided towards the "gothy" side of the genre. No mention of Asphyx, Bolt Thrower, or the more brutal death/doom bands? What gives? 71.116.54.77 (talk) 20:19, 9 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Death/doom is usually used to describe the bands that gave birth to gothic metal. Bands like Bolt Thrower are midtempo death metal bands influenced by the Candlemass type of doom... – Aalhambra (talk) 22:24, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

The technical problems come from the talk page, not the actual article. And besides, I don't know if there should be a slash at all. Hill Crest's WikiLaser! (BOOM!) 16:29, 14 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Sub-pages This makes Talk:Death/doom a subpage of Talk:death, which it isn't really. Slashes are used for subdirectories (e.g. look at any Wikipedia URL: http://XX.wikipedia.org/wiki/TITLE.) —Justin (koavf)TCM 18:47, 25 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Title

edit

This page should be moved from death-doom to deathdoom. I've found more sources referring to it as such, rather than death-doom or death/doom. Also, it resembles the names of genres such as "deathgrind" and "deathcore". The page recognizes death-doom as also being spelled deathdoom. TomUSA 23:07, 20 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
