Fair use rationale for Image:Earnhardt crash.jpg
editImage:Earnhardt crash.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

editContradiction
editThe article says "Earnhardt was killed instantly." and the very next line says "Earnhardt's injuries were severe enough that he was unable to exit the car without assistance" Am I missing something here? I think the fact that a dead person can't move is pretty self explanatory. Did he die instantly or not? -- Anyquestions (talk) 00:25, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
Was his death on film?
- Include The race was on film and he died from injuries sustained in the accident in the 2001 Daytona 500. I was watching the race live on television. Royalbroil 02:35, 28 September 2012 (UTC)
- Include - It was filmed by Fox. I, myself, also saw the race live. ZappaOMati 19:01, 30 September 2012 (UTC)
- Include The race was broadcast internationally and several people seen the fatal crash. So yes, his death was "on film." -- Nascar1996(Talk • Contribs) 00:48, 4 October 2012 (UTC)
- Include - I even remember Darrell Waltrip's exact words. United States Man (talk) 02:11, 5 October 2012 (UTC)
- included - Yes, his death really WAS on film, having been seen live on NASCAR on Fox. I've recently watched the coverage of Dale, Sr.'s death in a video on YouTube.com, when Mike Joy called "THE 3 CAR DOW—OOOOOOHHHH!! BIG TROUBLE, BIG WRECK BEHIND THEM!!!!!!" as it happened. I was almost four years old at the time, so I didn't even see everything until recently on YouTube.com. Ptb1997 (talk) 5:56, 24 January, 2015 (CST)
"Figure 09"
editPart of the text currently states "This configuration is demonstrated in Figure 09". I have no idea what Figure 09 is meant to be - clearly the figures in the article are not numbered. It suggests that that part of the text was copied verbatim from some source, and it would be worth correcting it and/or checking the copyright status. --Money money tickle parsnip (talk) 20:15, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
It may help people understand the details of the cars position on the track during the crash if there was a detailed diagram included in this section https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Dale_Earnhardt#Final_lap_crash, instead of "https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Degree_(angle)" measurements that are hard to understand for people who aren't technically minded. 101.160.176.23 (talk) 15:59, 22 September 2015 (UTC)
- Added diagram with angles, removed diagram request. Egmason (talk) 12:54, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

Pointless Paragraph Removal
editIs there some special reason that Brad Keselowski's memories from when he was ten merit a paragraph ? He has nothing to do with Earnhardt, that I am aware of, and is not a major figure in NASCAR racing, certainly not at the time this happened, so, to put it bluntly, who cares what he thinks ?
If there's no rebuttal, I'll remove that paragraph in a few days 203.160.86.78 (talk) 12:34, 26 December 2020 (UTC)
