Pak denies "technical problem"

edit

It seems someone is still pushing the idea that it was a conspiracy.[1] If conspirators wanted to kill the Zia, explosives are the obvious answer. The idea that Zia was killed with VX sounds has a far-fetched, movie thriller quality. It's true that the Russians have dabbled in exotic murder techniques and certainly had a motive. (Zia wanted to mess up their exit from Afghanistan.) But when you're doing a really big hit, you stick to what you know works. The conspiracy literature is full of references to "stifled investigations," which makes it even less likely that it was a foreign intelligence service. A section might be created mentioning the novel A Case of Exploding Mangoes... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.2.221.89 (talk) 22:02, 9 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

This should be "Death of Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq"

edit

The death was the event that shook the world and shaped future events. That a premier who dies in office gets a state funeral should not be the main focus of this article. I'm afraid I'm too lazy to fix it myself, so I leave this comment hoping to give courage to a future editor who thinks the same thing and is motivated to fix it. ciphergoth (talk) 03:52, 27 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Backing for conspiracy theory

edit

Christina Lamb, in her book Waiting for Allah, states that an autopsy was performed upon one of the crash victims (presumably not a Muslim), which found that death took place before impact. What her source was, I have no idea. Harfarhs (talk) 02:09, 20 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
