Freebasing on board?
editUser 2600:1002:b001:d6ba:c326:1f81:d5ad:c9f3 inserted an item into the lede today about Ricky freebasing on board and his pipe igniting. There was no reference to this in the main article, which is where new material ought to be inserted, appropriately cited. Only then should it be added to the lede, if it merits such emphasis. Allegations of freebasing?
editWhy is there no mention of the allegations that Nelson was freebasing cocaine and that the aerosol fumes caused the fire? There were numerous reports of this in newspapers at the time, including the Washington Post. Officially, the cause of the fire is undetermined, so I feel this possibility should be mentioned in the article, at least under the "investigation" section, because it was something the the NTSB investigated. Cocaine was found in Nelson's system post mortem and his cocaine use was an issue in his 1981 divorce. 2600:100B:B13A:EE34:0:16:6376:3A01 (talk) 19:29, 26 December 2022 (UTC)

- The plane did *not* crash. It was landed by the pilots, but too late to evacuate those overcome by smoke/fumes. 159.2.38.98 (talk) 22:26, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
