The article is unclear about whether an individual sentenced to "death sentence with reprieve" is incarcerated for the duration of the two year reprieve, or "tested" in society. I think the natural assumption would be the first, but I also recall reading about a corruption case a few years back that clarified on what it meant, and if I can recall correctly it was served in the community.
