Solstice

edit

The winter solstice, sometimes known as Yule, occurs on or very close to this date.

Well, yeah, up here it does, but Chileños might see it differently. I jury-rigged a fix, but it's borealocentric. --Charles A. L. 14:41, Dec 22, 2003 (UTC)

I edited this for clarity, and removed the reference to "Yule" and "Chinese Calendar." These reference only two of the many cultures that find this event important, and readers can click to those articles to obtain more detail. --mtz206 00:30, Jun 6, 2005 (UTC)

Brett Favre

edit

Removed Brett Farve entry - considering the global importance of the other events listed, his achievement doesn't seem as appropriate. --mtz206 00:23, Jun 6, 2005 (UTC)

Evidently this event has resurfaced and it still remains non-notable. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 20:37, 21 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm going to go ahead and put brackets around the years to wikify them.--Farquaadhnchmn 15:42, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Kiwipete, In my edit summary, "random aviation incident" refers to the Korean Air Cargo Flight 8509. Anyways, here's why my inclusion of Falcon 9 flight 20 is warranted:

  • Successful return and vertical landing of a rocket's first stage has never been achieved before.
  • This is the first ever practical reuse of a rocket. The Space Shuttle has its spacecraft reusable, but refurbishing it cost more than building a new one outright.
  • It does reduce the cost of spaceflight by a factor of two, i.e. not a fluke.

I don't think this meets either WP:NOTABILITY or WP:DOYSTYLE - there is no link to a wiki article specifically about this event. As you noted in your earlier edit, it is mentioned in 2015 in spaceflight, and I think that is the appropriate place for it. Thanks, Kiwipete (talk) 10:05, 7 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
What the hell? I literally provided a link to the article on top called Falcon 9 flight 20. You're just being disruptive at this point. CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 10:06, 7 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
