Why was my entry deleted? The Gwen Jacob court victory potentially affects the entire Canadian population. It was quoted by the Supreme Court of Canada in a later decision. It has influenced others around the world. It is far more impactful than a bridge in Ireland, a bomb in Moscow, or a plane crash in Mexico (all other events listed) naturist (talk) 18:39, 12 December 2016 (UTC)

Anna's Day?
editCan anyone verify Anna's Day? Seems kind of fishy. DenisMoskowitz 17:05, 2004 Dec 8 (UTC) December 9 is Saint Anna/Anne's Day in the Greek Orthodox Calendar.
December 29th 2005 - I'm Finnish and we have a folklore tradition of Anna, St.Anne, mother of Virgin Mary, on December 9th. It is believed that she was adopted as Goddess Annikki from Karelien - to give in Finnish is "antaa" so "Annikki" means (loosely) "the Giver". She was believed to wear a green mantel and to be the daughter of the Forest God Tapio. Anyway, it was a tradition to bake on Anna's day and the beer had to be made the latest on this day. In Swedish Anna rhymes with "kanna", which means pitcher. So in Finland she was depicted with a tray of bread and in Sweden with a pitcher. "Anna med kannan" - Anne with the pitcher. But yes, the day is celebrated in Scandinavia, even when it's not very common day. It's mainly because the 10th of December is the Nobel day and the 9th is the Nobel day in Norway - and on 13th St.Lucy is being celebrated - and both these days are HUGE! [Ketutar]

Adolf Eichmann
editI deleted the entry about the end of Adolf Eichmann’s trial, as it was inconsistent with the Adolf Eichmann article
1875 – The Massachusetts Rifle Association, "America's Oldest Active Gun Club", is founded.
editIs this really noteworthy? I'm not gonna remove it now, but I'm throwing the idea out here.
