Deep six as a noun?

edit

I am not a native speaker of English. Therefore my question. In the computer game Max Payne, you infiltrate a secret underground science lab. When the guards become aware of you, they send out a radio message that "the deep six has been compromised". Can "deep six" thus also refer to something that has been deep-sixed, i.e. buried or hidden?—Preceding unsigned comment added by Zarkumo (talkcontribs) 09:25, 10 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes it can.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.201.235.11 (talkcontribs) 20:30, 26 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Page name

Should this page reside at Deep six or Deep Six? -- JHunterJ (talk) 01:47, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I take the point that all the current entries are "Six" whereas the page is "six" but does it matter if one redirects to the other? Abtract (talk) 08:47, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Not deeply, but I've had a request to move it to the "righter" name. -- JHunterJ (talk) 12:47, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
From an editor incapable of moving it themself? But, seriously, couldn't our time be better spent? MOS:DAB#Introductory line "It is not necessary to repeat all the possible variations of capitalization" makes clear its disdain for capitalisation variants. But whatever you decide to do is OK by me. Right, the move has to be done by an admin, since the target has edit history. As for better spent, I suppose we could, but I like editing Wikipedia. :-) -- JHunterJ (talk) 14:46, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Happy hunting. :) Abtract (talk) 15:14, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Deep Six fishing

edit

A Deep-six is a triangular diving plane used when trolling for fish. When fish strikes lure on trailing line, it separates, go to surface to indicate "fish on". 2603:6000:D700:194D:1892:2DD:C5C9:5691 (talk) 16:30, 2 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
