Reversion edit 17 October 2011
editReverted edit by IP125.33.4.173, summary as "Changed 'people' to 'certain persons' as implication all wanted it contradicted by later mention of unrest and sabotage." Cannot find contradiction to the original text: "The people of Market Deeping, Deeping Gate and Deeping St James, together with other villages...". If what is meant as contradiction is "Unrest in the early 1600s resulted in most of the works being destroyed", this hardly fits the bill. If not it doesn’t really matter either way - the original text is supported by a valid reference. Perhaps an added direct quote from Roberts could clarify this if the text is problematic by being his/her opinion. However the use of the word “purported” in the added edited text is itself blatant editorialised opinion, as just who is it that makes the judgment on whether or not the ‘people’ were represented in entirety, or just 'some people' - IP125.33.4.173 ? I have removed the word “The” from the start of the para so it reads: “People of Market Deeping, Deeping Gate and Deeping St James...” – this leaves it open – it now means some people or all people – I think a reasonable compromise for now.
