editHello, we are students with the University of Florida. We are expanding the Defaunation Wiki page, and would appreciate any feed back and suggestions. Here is a link to our sandbox Defaunation UF. We have moved to remove the extensive explanation of defaunation in ruminants. Thanks!

We propose to remove what is currently on the Defaunation Wiki page and replace it with what is in our sandbox. We plan on keeping the external link to the interview. We expanded and used more current and related articles. Feel free to add your input and thank you for the consideration. Here is the link: Defaunation UF

Hi, I am a student with Northeastern University. I propose to improve this page to C-class quality this semester (Fall 2015). I will post a link to my sandbox once I begin editing. I hope to give this article a more encyclopedic tone, expand the Ecological Impacts section (particularly seed dispersal) and make sure this article is global in scope. I appreciate any feedback, comments or questions!

Hi this is a review for a class I am currently taking so I ask that this please not get deleted so I can get a grade. Thank you So this article is very well organized and actually has a lot of good content in it for a new reader who is unsure as to what defaunation is. I really like how everything is broken down into sections. With that being said I think adding a section about conservation efforts being taken found in primary sources would be a nice section to add right after the consequences so that someone maybe looking for ideas on how to conserve their forests can find out what other places have been doing and how effective each effort has been. I also realized that this article has a lot of data in it helping the reader to really paint a picture as to how fast defaunation is happening. However, I noticed that specifically in the beginning the numbers are from 2015 and I was wondering if maybe we could find some updated ones from 2016 to help keep our readers up to date with the numbers each year. Another thing in the opening paragraph I noticed was that we have a link to empty forest. When I went to that page I also noticed it was short and had very similar information to our page and empty forest along with defaunation are very similar definitions. Unless you guys think that empty forest is a different thing completely from defaunation? A definition I found in a paper from 2013 (I looked at our one from 2014 as well) That defines defaunation as "Defaunation, the loss or population decline of medium and large native vertebrates" which to me is pretty similar to empty forest. I also found that in section 1.2 the last sentence of the second paragraph is not cited but is an interpretation of a study, so was that how you interpreted it? could someone interpret it in a different way? was that a conclusion in the study that didn't get cited? let me know what you think! thanks!KayAcer (talk) 14:22, 16 March 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by As701914 (talk • contribs)
