Defatting is a term I've heard when referring to processed soya protein products (e.g. soya mince). I can honestly say I've never heard the word "degrease" used in any context other than a mechanical one, using degreasing agents such as petrol, WD40, gunk, swarfega etc. I appreciate that "deglaze" is also a common word that is also used in both culinary and mechanical circles, so I'm sure it's a valid term even if not commonly used.
Could I suggest we have a disambig page that leads to "Parts cleaning" and the current degreasing page (i.e. the culinary meaning)? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.6.35.235 (talk) 16:22, 22 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
