Al Masdar

edit

Can I ask why we continue to use Al Masdar, a blatantly pro-government media organization, as our source for not just this, but many of our Syria articles? I don't think it escapes anyone but the most dense of the people here that this isn't a reliable source, so why use it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.185.211.120 (talk) 21:28, 8 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

But it is a reliable source. SOHR is a blatantly pro-opp media organization, yet it is still used. A source's reliability is determined not by its stance on the war, but how accurate its information is. In the case of Al-Masdar, the information it has been providing has been mostly accurate, even more so than SOHR concerning the Deir-Ez-Zor offensive [SOHR has yet to report the recapture of Jafra, airport perimeter].XJ-0461 v2 (talk) 17:49, 13 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

They regularly inflate casualty numbers and claim advances that didn't happen. SOHR doesn't let their bias affect their on-the-ground reporting, regardless of what they say elsewhere.24.185.211.120 (talk) 19:04, 14 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
