I have removed the mention of the Brythonic "Brynaich", for the reason that is 'fairly' irrelevant to the article as a whole (not to the Bernicia article, obviously) and sounds misleading as it makes it sound that Bernicia was a Brythonic kingdom at the time, rather than am English kingdom that may have the same name as the previous kingdom. So though there is continuity it is not the same kingdom as the Brythonic kingdom before. If the Brythonic language was still the common language of the UK it would be correct to translate it into the language, but if not then it should be translated into the language of the inhabitants (at the time) rather than what someone else called it (unless we have good grounds...for example if it is the name it is famous under). If everyone disagrees then go ahead and put it back. Sigurd Dragon Slayer

Table headings

edit

I knew very little about the subject of this page, and feel that it is a quite good and informative one, so thanks very much to those of you who have worked on it. Just a suggestion - I would have found a heading helpful on the third column of the table of kings. That column seems to be giving each one's contemporary official kingly title, but it would be nice to have that made clear, and perhaps to have been given more explanation as to its significance, the sources it is taken from (e.g. Inscriptions?) etc. Liamcalling (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 05:15, 2 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
