Fair use rationale for Image:Delogo1.gif

edit

Image:Delogo1.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:09, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Machine translation

edit

The article reads like, and certainly is, a machine translation from the French version. It is certainly not a correct human translation of the French version, and parts are just gibberish. The original 2004 article is superior.

It's quite a mess, isn't it? I'm going to attempt to do a rewrite mainly to see if I can make an English version that makes more sense. I have found some additional facts about Mr. Delage and his odious personality that might be of interest as well. Let me know what you think. Andacar (talk) 23:41, 14 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

I think, too, that it needs some work. Delage is in my scope for German Wikipedia. I gladly will volunteer here, too, if soneome will check my English. I think, the article can be improved by giving the competition cars their own chapter. --Chief tin cloud (talk) 13:10, 14 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
I did some heavy copy-editing just now. I don't particularly know very much about the history of Delage, so I left the contents untouched as much as I could, but I do feel Delage deserves a page that does not look like it did. I know it is not so very much better now, after my copy-edit. It is still a mess, but at least it is a readable mess. There were many sentences completely unintelligble. I believe we just can't have that in an encyclopedia. Every sentence needs to be written in correct English. I do hope that some other people will help me in improving this article. Can anyone for instance try to find the original 2004 article back, the one that 81.57.233.59 writes about? Please revert my edits if that constitutes an improvement to the article. Fiscal Horse Power

edit

It is a little bit irritating that French fiscal HP in the article are used like bhp. For example, a 2.1 litre Delage DI has 11 fiscal HP but much more bhp. --Chief tin cloud (talk) 13:10, 14 April 2011 (UTC) . 11 HP is car -2250 ccm. So, naming fiscal HP and engine volume in the samReply

Article structure

edit

Apologies for only commenting without doing any work, but the structure of the article is a bit chaotic now. First the history from beginning to end, then the races, and then the post-war history again. I think it would be better to divide into sections like Early history, History 1919-1930, History 1930-1945, Post-war history, or something like that. My thanks for and compliments on the rewite/expansion, btw! Mark in wiki (talk) 12:35, 3 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
