Fair use rationale for Image:DemonSwordcover.jpg

edit

Image:DemonSwordcover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:05, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rygar

edit

The game Rygar came out during the same period, and was a similar plot where you had an unusual combat style. It's great it got made into a PS2 game but I still wonder why Demon Sword didn't. It's potential just waiting there. I think this had a great dynamic. Tyciol (talk) 06:59, 12 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ninja Gaiden

edit

Ashtar, the villain of Ninja Gaiden 2, has a similar name (ends in -tar), is also a samurai with magic abilities, and also has a demon sword. Theoretically speaking, Victar could have been Ashtar back in medieval days, Ashtar could be Victar who learned the sorcery of the wizard he defeated and survived until modern times. Almost got fooled

edit

I thought for a second this might be official cover art, but was wrong. We have text in this article stating the following:

the Japanese release features a character more similar to the in-game sprite.

Does anyone happen to know where we can find what the Japanese cover art looks like? I think it would be beneficial to display here. I found a picture of the gameplay so I'll upload that as contrast but it's not the same and the Japanese cover art would really help to round this out. AweCo (talk) 00:39, 18 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

The 3 images I added got tagged and bot warned me so I am going to post reasoning based on how the cover art was reasoned. Template:Video_game_rationale may come in handy for this but for the moment I am going to alter the data in the cover art template though I will substitute Template:Non-free game screenshot for Template:Non-free game cover.
