The Sassanids were exchaning ambassadors with Denmark - really? Does anyone have a source for this? The closest thing to diplomatic relations between Persians and Scandanavians was the embassy of Ibn Rustah to the Viking Rus in the tenth century, well after the Sassanid period, and a one-way exchange as far as we know.--Jpbrenna 04:55, 15 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ok, I checked the link and it says some Sassanian coins have been found in Denmark. This does not neccesarily mean there were direct relations: Roman coins have been found in India, but there was no exchange of ambassadors between Rome and any of the states of ancient India. It is noteworthy, but I don't think we can view it as evidence of diplomatic relations.--Jpbrenna 16:53, 15 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Indeed. Even Ahmad ibn Fadlan didn't go so far north, and there is no documentation at all for direct relations between Persia and Denmark. Nor between Denmark and Arabia, eventhough Arabic silver coins have been found in many parts of the country. Valentinian (talk) / (contribs) 18:38, 24 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
However, the information about the 17th century mission seems interesting so I'll replace the text with this instead. Valentinian (talk) / (contribs) 18:45, 24 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
