Title
editsomeone should work on the title of this article i think. Mapetite526 20:45, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- What's that supposed to mean? Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 20:59, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
faroes?
editare the Faroe Islands considered by the Eurovision contest to be part of Denmark or do they just not enter the contest? Patrick~ 00:43, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
- They have to be members of the European Broadcasting Union, and I'm not sure if they are or not. Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 20:59, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Commentator in 1997 and 1998
editThe Danish commentator in 1997 was not Jørgen de Mylius, but Hans Otto Bisgaard who also did the commentary in 2001. I know, because I have it on DVD with Danish commentary. Unfortunately I haven't got any sources for it, but I will try to find some. And the 1998 commentary was provided by Keld Heick. I'll be looking for sources here too. Aejsing (talk) 15:02, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
- Isn't the DVD commentary different to the live broadcast commentary? Only asking as the IMDB have Jørgen de Mylius as being Danish commentator for 1997 and 1998 contests. I'd have thought a well established company such as Internet Movie Database would keep a near 100% accuracy of their records. And the other problem I have here is if you've changed the article based on something "you know because you have the DVD" would constitute original research, and that is prohibited on Wikipedia. - Ok, fair enough. It's ok you changed it back. However I would find it strange of DR to make someone else comment on the show afterwards in order to make an official video release. The one I have was bought through the Eurovision DVD-site, and the DR logo of that time is visible on the screen (which of course proves nothing), and he is speaking as if it were a live broadcast. But if you want, I will try to get a complete list of the Danish commentators since 1956 from DR itself. I suppose they must know best in this case (?) Aejsing (talk) 18:29, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
- I have just been writing to DR about this issue, hoping to get a confirmation about who commented for Denmark in 1997 and 1998. I have asked for a complete list to be released by DR. If IMDB turns out to be right, I will do nothing more, but if they are not, the data on IMDB need to be changed. Aejsing (talk) 19:05, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
- You are aware that IMDB are not associated with Wikipedia, right!? They are a totally independent company that provide a casting list based on information provided to them from broadcasting networks etc. And I'm still not sure that you are grasping the concept of no original research either. Sure, we can contact DR, but if they only send the list to you, then how does everyone else see it for verification? It would be a serious breach of policy. DR would need to publish a list into the public domain so that anyone can view it, for us to be able to use that as a citation. Wesley ☮ Mouse 19:18, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
- I am aware of that. And this is why I have indeed asked them to either publish a complete list ("I have asked for a complete list to be released by DR") or to verify the information provided by IMDB. Of course I know it wouldn't be enough if they only give the list to me, and if my explanation looked that way, I am sorry about that. I may be wrong in this case, I just want a clarification of all this. Aejsing (talk) 20:28, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
- Ah right, I see. Phew! I was starting to get palpitations that we may be on the verge of original research LOL. Keep us posted on what happens. Wesley ☮ Mouse 20:41, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
- I will. And sorry about changing the article at first point. That was wrong of me. Aejsing (talk) 20:48, 15 July 2013 (UTC)

While we are waiting: IMDB sais nothing about Mylius commentating for Denmark in 1991: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1186706/#Self, but they have Camilla Miehe-Renard in that role: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1192333/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1#Self Aejsing (talk) 14:08, 26 July 2013 (UTC)
- Then be bold and correct the article, seeing as the source verifies those facts. It could be that those details were missed as the time of updating the article. Wesley ☮ Mouse 21:12, 26 July 2013 (UTC)
- Done :-) Aejsing (talk) 22:58, 26 July 2013 (UTC)
