Why has BWV 15 been omitted from the title?
editCompare other Bach articles. K175 (talk) 14:14, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
- Not composed by the usual Bach (=Johann Sebastian), but by his second cousin Johann Ludwig Bach:
- This cantata is no longer in the main catalogue of the BWV, but in Anhang III, that is the annex of the spurious works, where it is ranged after No. 157 (of that annex), thus it's official current BWV number is not BWV 15 but BWV 15 / Anh. III 157‑> which is a lot of code, nothing that most readers would easily parse, for saying that it should never have been in the BWV catalogue in the first place.
- on the other hand, the cantata has a number in the catalogue of Johann Ludwig's works (JLB 21), but that abbreviation (JLB) would be unrecognisable for most readers too.
