Discussion for Redirect
editDeportivo Municipal should redirect to Club Deportivo Municipal because that is the name the club is known as. however someone decided to add the "Club" word to it. other reasons why it should redirect to Club Deportivo Municipal because that is how the club is refered to or named across Wikipedia articles. Some examples: 1948 South American Championship of Champions, 1950 Peruvian Primera División, 1981 Torneo Descentralizado, 1982 Copa Libertadores, 1993 Torneo Intermedio, 2004 Copa Perú, 2006 Segunda División Peruana etc. In addition, using the what links here tool, we can see that most if not all articles linking to "Deportivo Municipal" refers to the Peruvian club founded in 1935. The result of the move request was: move. However, I'm not moving Club Deportivo Municipal to Deportivo Municipal, as there was no notification of this move request there; I'll change Deportivo Municipal into a redirect. -- tariqabjotu 13:34, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
- Deportivo Municipal → Deportivo Municipal (disambiguation) – disambiguation page over redirect --Relisted. -- tariqabjotu 17:38, 11 August 2013 (UTC) MicroX (talk) 02:40, 1 August 2013 (UTC)
- This move is only needed if any (which one?) of the various listed Deportivos Municipales is a dominant meaning and is to be moved to the plain name. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:19, 1 August 2013 (UTC)
Support- The Peruvian football club Deportivo Municipal is the oldest of them all (founded 1935) and is among the most popular, traditional and recognizable clubs of Peru. Concerning online notability, searching for Deportivo Municipal, the most results on the first page were related to the Peruvian Deportivo Municipal. The Bolivian Deportivo Municipal de La Paz was founded in 1944 and as of 2010 is not active according to the Spanish wiki. The other Peruvian Deportivo Municipal de Huamanga founded in 1995 is a clear spin-off of the Lima-based Deportivo Municipal (indicated by the kit and badge) in addition to never having reached the professional division. It can be submitted for AfD or PROD'd because of lack of notability. The other Club Deportivo Municipal Cañar is of Ecuador, plays in a third tier league, was founded in 1987, no sources on the article page and a stub. --MicroX (talk) 06:33, 1 August 2013 (UTC)

- Support I wouldn't've thought so from a glance, but this does appear to be WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Am I correct in assuming you want Club Deportivo Municipal moved to Deportivo Municipal, or do you just want the latter to redirect? --BDD (talk) 20:59, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, that is what I support. Club Deportivo Municipal → Deportivo Municipal. --MicroX (talk) 23:14, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
