This page contains several inaccuracies, however it is protected from editing.

examples: -"He initially denied wrongdoing, but eventually reimbursed the province the amount he had earned."

-This is inaccurate. Fildebrandt did not "reimburse" the province, since the money did not come from the province. Instead, he donated the $2,400 he hard earned toward the provincial debt. See here: https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/alberta-mla-who-rented-out-taxpayer-funded-apartment-takes-leave-as-finance-critic-1.3541919

-"He initially claimed that his GPS was not working and was unaware that he was on private property. "I was deer hunting in an area that I did not know well and mistakenly thought that I was on crown lease land," said Fildebrandt. "I shot a deer and immediately tagged it. I found out soon afterwards that the land was private and immediately apologized to the owner." However according to the landowner when he was first confronted he attempted to claim he had the landowners permission to hunt on the land. Later, after he was caught by the actual owner and charged by Fish and Wildlife, the story changed to he thought he was on crown land. "I donated the deer to the local food bank afterward. I took full responsibility in my conversation with the owner and Fish and Wildlife Officer and am deeply sorry for the accident."[47]"

-this is inaccurate and does not include citation for several of the claims made. In the article cited (https://calgary.ctvnews.ca/mla-derek-fildebrandt-faces-charges-related-to-alleged-unlawful-hunting-practices-1.3720446) Fildebrandt did not retract any statement about his GPS not working, which is strongly implied in the use of "he initially claimed". There is no reference to Fildebrandt changing his statement on this anywhere in the cited source.
-Also, this article also states that that the landowner claims he said that he claims to have had permission to hunt on the land. This is not noted anywhere in the cited article and is only found in this wikipedia entry. There is also no mention that the "story changed" in this cited source, but is included in this wikipedia article.

I request that these inaccuracies be corrected in this article. Thank you, Roger.Steiner (talk) 17:29, 21 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Note, there is a link to a tabloid (Western Standard) in reference to Derek Fildebrant chasing teenagers in his vehicle. It should not be removed solely because the Western Standard is not a reliable source. The tabloid belongs to Fildebrant, and the link is to his own written statement. Call it autobiographical.
