Neutrality disputed

@QueenofBithynia:, it's quite obvious this article has multiple issues. It seems to be a bare bones translation of bare bones Ukrainian/Russian content. While I am not disputing that the article has POV issues, could you elaborate as to why you tagged it as having that issue? Thanks, Jabbi (talk) 09:05, 8 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

I am not an expert in the subject area, but it seems to display a Ukrainian nationalist POV. There is no criticism of the practise, but to be honest a lot of the sources don't even mention derussification (or words to that effect), which seems a bit like OR to me. De-russification is essentially a major human rights violation, giving that we are talking about millions of Ukrainians natively speaking Russian. Who gave the Kiev's government right to deny Russian language/culture access to these people, mostly in Eastern Ukraine?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 162.231.141.79 (talk) 18:02, 24 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

There should at the very least be a criticism section like the one in Decommunization in Ukraine. Charles Essie (talk) 21:21, 24 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Ambiguous scope with very few references actually connecting the name changes to derussification. The name changes required by Law 3005-IX have actually not come into effect yet. What little relevant info there is about name changes prior can be covered at the parent article derussification in Ukraine. When the law does come into effect, those changes can be covered at the law's page On the Condemnation and Prohibition of Propaganda of Russian Imperial Policy in Ukraine and the Decolonization of Toponymy. I think improving the list may be a better option than merging. MykolaHK (talk) 19:38, 16 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Closing, with no merge, given the uncontested objection and no support with stale discussion. Klbrain (talk) 09:11, 11 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
