Song originations

edit

I've removed all the notes from the tracklist saying which song is from which episode. There seems to be much contention around which song is from what episode, and until we have songs to actually listen to and compare, it's speculation. If you can find reliable sources saying "Song X" is from "Episode Y", then that info can be added. This does not mean youtube videos uploaded by some guy given some random name that may or may not be correct, nor does it mean your own interpretation of what Nathan is grunting in the vocals. Wikipedia isn't going anywhere, so there's no rush to finish the article today. MrMoustacheMM (talk) 04:32, 21 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I put the correct ones back in. So there's no point removing them again because we all know they're right. Please try not to be a inconvenience. Hatredy (talk) 07:01, 21 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
What exactly do you mean by "we all know they're right" and who are "we"? Where are you getting the information of song origins from, and is that information on a reliable source or two, if not more? Some of this information may be "basic" to you, but what one person observes as basic info may end up being original research. Also, what appears basic to one person may be hard to grasp or not known at all to another person. Therefore, keep in mind the principles and guidelines of Wikipedia, and that supposedly "we all know they're right" does not suffice as a reason to post information on Wikipedia articles. What Backtable said. I've undone your original research, please do not re-add without a source. Thanks. MrMoustacheMM (talk) 14:19, 21 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Fine, you want to be an inconvenience and do pointless sh#t like this then that's fine by me, but i'll be rubbing it in when you guys find out that I was right all along and laugh at you while you sit around feeling like dumbf#cks. Be an hero, see if i care Hatredy (talk) 00:05, 22 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Okay, go right ahead and do that whenever that may happen; I won't care either. Information must be verifiable, and "rubbing it in" won't do any good, while citations would. Have a nice day.
Also, MrMoustacheMM, I hate to burst your bubble or anything like that, but the correct word is "origins", not "originations". Backtable Speak to meconcerning my deeds. 02:25, 22 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
To be honest alot could be added and proven with source because dethklok played several of these new songs live at comic con and Brendon has stated in a fan Q&A that there's several songs he planned to record from certain episodes, and not to mention anyone with half a brain could tell that if the first lyric in a song is "I ejaculate fire" then it's obviously from dethhealth(but i know that it's irrelevant). But honestly this information doesn't even need to be included, so lets just leave it as is.Davidravenski (talk) 03:13, 22 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
If he names a specific song and says it was in a specific episode, then that can definitely be sourced and added. If we piece together several bits of random info, we're violating WP:OR and WP:SYNTH, and that can't be added. Again, we're not on a time limit here, we can add the info when it's fully supported.
"Originations" works well enough. Either way, it was understood what I meant. MrMoustacheMM (talk) 04:52, 22 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I agree that information can be added when all of it is verifiable. I wasn't previously familiar with the no deadline principle, but I find it to be a very reasonable one. Backtable Speak to meconcerning my deeds. 05:35, 22 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I admit I have been a little bit aggressive but I still believe I'm right. Anyway, the Setlist at Comic Con 2012 said that one song was called "Dethfair" so either they changed name later or the deluxe or vinyl editions may have bonus tracks. Just putting that out there, and sorry for not being civilHatredy (talk) 01:45, 23 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

omg, dude why are you even fighting it at this point. I know that some of those are unbearably obvious but in cases like these you have no choice but to follow the wiki rules, who even cares if the info is there. When the album comes out, you can go ahead and add it.Davidravenski (talk) 10:45, 23 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Alright, so I've looked at Small's twitter and could find the following confirmations of songs in episodes: "Starved", "The Galaxy", "Ghost Queen", "The Hammer", and "Skyhunter". I've added each post as a source, and added a fact tag to the rest. If there were other tweets that I just can't see (entirely possible, Twitter seems to be having problems fully loading for me), then please add them as references as necessary (note about "Killstardo Abominate", more will be needed than "K A shows up briefly 2x.", as this doesn't mention any specific episodes). If they haven't been referenced in the next day or so, I'll remove them until they can be sourced. MrMoustacheMM (talk) 00:56, 24 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

For serious?

edit

Omg, is brendon a troll or what? The galaxy and skyhunter? Why couldn't he just call them the beginning and reborn? Anyway, glad I was originally right the first time, so suck it those who doubted me!Hatredy (talk) 03:43, 24 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

I have no comment on why those particular titles were chosen. However, you don't need to tell people to "suck it" just because you turned out to be correct. Let's have good sportsmanship here. Backtable Speak to meconcerning my deeds. 05:59, 24 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
I don't think anyone doubted you (I certainly didn't), but this is an encyclopedia, not a place for speculation. Information added to this page needs to be sourced per WP:V. WP:V is a standard Wikipedia policy that applies here as much as it does to any other article. MrMoustacheMM (talk) 05:29, 25 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

New Dethklok single

edit

Before you delete anything I just found out that I Ejaculate Fire has been released as a single on various websites, so if you guys could add all the references and stuff that would be grand because I'm on my iPad at the moment so I can't do it, thanks and enjoyHatredy (talk) 01:11, 1 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

I don't think it's been released as a single. It's been released, but not for sale.Davidravenski (talk) 00:09, 1 September 2012 (UTC)wReply
You know what I mean, it's available on CraveOnline and will be available on iTunes on Tuesday .Hatredy (talk) 01:11, 1 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
Where the article that says it'll be released on itunes? Because if it is released as a single it can be noted in the article. And why has duration been added to several other songs? I don't think they've been released. Davidravenski (talk) 14:04, 1 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

I made the page a long time ago dude... Davidravenski (talk) 10:25, 5 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
two things. 1) that makes no sense whatsoever. 2) still doesnt change the fact that I WAS RIGHT AND YOU WERE WRONG!!! :D HAHA SUCKITHatredy (talk) 00:19, 6 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
Twitter, while I guess it can be a reasonable source, is not a high-quality source. Other reputable sources should be used if the ability exists to do so, since Twitter is a social networking site where people can post stuff without giving it a second thought. However, I won't contest the information at hand.
By the way, this is the second time I'm telling you this, but there is no need or reason to tell other people to "suck it" whenever you "get information correct". Such commentary is desrespectful and uncivil. Out of context, and even in context, the capital letter statement of you saying, "I was right and you were wrong... suck it", doesn't reflect positively on you, and makes you look rather self-righteous. Please keep your communications with fellow Wikipedians civil, mature, and reasonable. Backtable Speak to meconcerning my deeds. 00:47, 6 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Dethfair = Ghostqueen

edit

A YouTube video gave a source on the comic con 2012 setlist on a post from Flickr. I don't know what Flickr is but the post is either from the band or from someone attending who copied from a pamphlet of some sort. Sort it outHatredy (talk) 07:14, 4 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

That's hardly a reliable source. If you can bring a source actually discussing this, then it can be added, but this isn't good enough for an encyclopedia. MrMoustacheMM (talk) 04:47, 5 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Andromeda leaked, I think, it's on YouTube, check it out, it might have been aired on Full Metal Jackie.Hatredy (talk) 04:38, 24 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Leaks not permitted by the artist or label are not that important to Wikipedia. I think that there are verifiability and notability issues with leaks. Backtable Speak to meconcerning my deeds. 06:40, 24 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
WP:LEAK is the relevant guideline here. MrMoustacheMM (talk) 17:16, 24 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Full title?

edit

Can we find more than one source supporting the title as being "Dethalbum III: One More than Periphery Have Made So Far"? The only reliable source I can find is the metalsucks one, and nothing else. From what I've seen the album cover itself doesn't call it that. So I'm questioning that addition, and think it should be removed unless more reliable sources are found calling it that. MrMoustacheMM (talk) 17:55, 16 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Metalsucks is a satirical website; therefore, it is known to make jokes and humor. If the metalsucks source is the only source which calls the album by this full title, then the album shouldn't go by this alleged full title on Wikipedia. This full title might just be a joke on behalf of metalsucks, and may not be meant to be taken seriously. I'll remove the mention from the article for now.
