Year-by-Year

edit

There was so issue with the wiki formatting of the table. Even when I used external macros to code the table, it would collapse the bottom two rows if I tried to spread a season out across two rows (e.g. the 2020-2021 season going across 2020 and 2021) while keeping the USOC in one year. My solution, for now, is to put the season entirely within the year it starts in and not the second half. Will dig around for alternative solutions. Roster Editing

edit

@Blueandwhite87: I'm always tempted to just pull the roster off the page, right now it's ridiculously hard to track and even this new updated one is wildly incorrect. William Spurr left the club a while ago and in a rather poor fashion. Seb Harris and Dave Edwardson both retired. There's a bunch of college kids on it who certainly aren't going to join us for the Member's Cup (Morse, Mondi, et al.). Not sure what the best course of action would be. Maybe reduce it to just the NPSL-supplied roster? That's probably more official than the one on the DCFC site, which is often left ignored for long stretches by the FO. Thanks for the work so far, though. Appreciate the help. Pirmas697 (talk) 11:19, 12 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Fan Edits

edit

While those of us who maintain the wikipage for DCFC greatly appreciate all the help we can get, please stop essentially vandalizing the article with fanisms and the such. We work hard to maintain the credibility of the article so that it meets with Wikipedia's standards and so that we and the team stay in good standing. This is, as surprising as it might be to read, an educational article. It is not a place to spout chants, or add more and more nicknames that are never really used. For example, there is really no need to add "Caesar" to every reference to Coach Pirmann's name. Nor would it be acceptable to refer to him as such in the article. I will continue to remove vandalism whether it comes from rivals or overly enthusiastic fans. Pirmas697 (talk) 11:16, 15 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Also, please ensure that your additions all properly cited. A rule of thumb: if you can't cite it; don't add it.Pirmas697 (talk) 11:17, 15 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Year-by-year Standards

edit

Should the Year-by-year section include things such as the "Members Cup" or "Independence Cup"? The section should only include regular season results / statistics and not things like tournaments. ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 20:36, 6 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Independence Cup I could take or leave, but the Members Cup was as long as any NPSL season, so I think it should stay. Perhaps either add as a separate table or column? Pirmas697 (talk) 16:30, 7 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Hmm, How about something like this that we could sub-head under the regular season table and call it "tournament results"? No need to keep things like "manager" since it will be shown right above in the standard league table, and if a management change happens mid-tournament a note can be added. Plus we don't need U.S. Open Cup. If a 2021 Independence Cup happens, we can stretch the rowspan of it. Plus if there are other things that you can think of ("USASA National Tournaments" maybe?) we can put those in as well. ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 15:06, 8 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Sounds good. I'll get to work on it. Pirmas697 (talk) 15:19, 8 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Cool. Should we do something similar with the Members Cup attendances? Or should those go with the 2019 attendances so the 2019-20 reads O for regular season? ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 19:27, 8 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

"Based in Detroit/Hamtramck"

edit

As of writing this (5 April, 2021) Detroit City FC is based out of Detroit and play in Hamtramck. The Detroit City Fieldhouse functions as the club's headquarters and the team's main facility for training and recovery. It's where the front office is based as well as the club shop. Previous to the Fieldhouse opening the club was both based in and playing in Hamtramck. It is possible, in the future, this will change again, but for the time being the club is based in Detroit and plays in Hamtramck. Pirmas697 (talk) 18:18, 5 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Historical performance chart (in History section)

edit

I love the chart, but it seems impossible to correctly quantify their performance prior to the move to USLC in division 2, due to there being parallel leagues in division 3 and below in the US soccer system that don't have a good method of comparison between them.
