The speed
editWhy does people say its fake? Also if this is as fast as they say it is could we fit this engine in life sized hotwheels car that would be fun! Anonamus name (talk) 19:58, 27 November 2021 (UTC)
Some reasons
- Unbelievable horsepower and torque.
- The company is not well-known.
- Currently in prototype status, not yet in production (so not yet available for sale or testing, to finding about its horsepower and torque are real or fake).
- Some news are said about its performance (acceleration, top speed, etc.), but they seems to be "estimated" only, not yet tested (by any automotive media, or even by Devel Motors itself).
At least, the engine (created by Steve Morris Engines) is seems to be real.

- Why does people say its fake?
A few years ago, several [1][2][3] well-known youtube influencers produced videos that glorified the car. Later on, a youtuber debunked[4] the shown vehicle as a hastily cobbled together, barely-functional mockup as well as the tactics that the influencers used to deceive the viewers[5]. The company itself also posted cheaply produced videos that suggest that the car is being overhyped. The only other factual information is a report by Road & Track about the engine that suggests that the leaders of the car company have no idea what they're doing.
other clues
- several years past the claimed release dates
- the company rarely releases informations
- awkward company name (“Defining Extreme Vehicles Car Industry")
- the performance figures are indeed "unbelievable" (350 mph)
- contradicting performance figures
and a few more... Havlicek stole the ball (talk) 00:24, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
Engine Picture
editPhoto captioned 'Engine view' shows only engine cover and what looks like an exhaust box.
It clearly doesn't show the engine, which is signficant since the headline figures are only claimed for the V16 quad turbo version, which hasn't yet been seen in any car, nor even been seen running on a bench. The photo is claimed to show the NA V8 model, but there are no photographs available to show that this is true, or if it is true, whether it is actually a V8 engine developed specifically for the Devel Sixteen as claimed.
I intend to remove this picture, since it does not show the Devel Sixteen engine, it merely shows a cover clearly intended to hide the engine. Centrepull (talk) 19:25, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
