Kerala?
editWhere did the fact that he is from Kerala come from?
- It's taken from Tiamat's Street Fighter Plot FAQ, which generally strives to be a reliable resource. Danny Lilithborne 08:12, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
Dhalsim's glitch?
editDhalsim's "disappear" glitch in SF2:WW. Why was this removed? Too technical? I've had many people ask me how to do this move over the Kaillera server, it's far more interesting than his super moves in subsequent games - all of which are listed in the instruction manuals anyway. You stated: "(overtechnical, removed. Sim doesn't have a glitch section like Guile does)" When the reason he doesn't have a Glitch section is because not many people know of his glitches. I know of 1 glitch (the one you removed) and I'm sure a section can be added if any more are discovered. As I said before, many people are interested in learning this trick, even if you are not. I was under the impression that Wiki' was a place for everyone to enjoy, not just a select few. Please think before editing. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Dhalsim&diff=prev&oldid=53266557—Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.5.116.250 (talk • contribs)
- I'm getting real tired of anonymous people trying to tell others with accounts what Wikipedia is supposed to be. If people want to know how to do Dhalsim's glitches, they can go to GameFAQs. Danny Lilithborne 00:08, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- What is your problem with the original addition I made to the page?—Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.5.116.250 (talk • contribs)
- It's not detailed enough, and just because some people wonder about it doesn't mean it's notable enough. Give more information. - Zero1328 Talk? 10:25, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
Destroy
editSo how does the most cannonical statement made by Dhalsim, "I will meditate and then destroy you" fit in with all this talk of pacifism? --The Yar 15:00, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
- I'm guessing another Capcom USA mistranslation. Danny Lilithborne 19:31, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
Lock
editThere have recently been edits to his page that fall under "vandalism", I propose we lock it.
Curry
edit"According to the English language Street Fighter II manual, eating spicy Indian curry gave Dhalsim the ability of fire breathing, but this was rewritten to being a gift from Agni, the Indian god of fire."
I looked through all the SNES SF2 manuals and I didn't find this anywhere. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.40.11.120 (talk) 06:20, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- I think that factoid actually came from the GamePro Strategy Guide, though I can't say it with certainty. JuJube (talk) 06:27, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Vegetarianism
editYesterday I tried to place the Dhalsim article in the Fictional Vegetarians category. My entry was deleted.
I choose to argue against this decision, as there are two bases for categorizing Dhalsim as a vegetarian. 1. Meat is listed as one of his dislikes. 2. In the character basis section of the article, it is stated that vegetarianism is one of the tenets that he lives by.
It is with this in mind that I believe Dhalsim should be categorized as a fictional vegetarian. I ask anyone who believes otherwise to speak up and explain why they believe the way they do. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Afrikanpygmy (talk • contribs) 05:09, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- Now that I look back on it, I'm not really sure. There's nothing in the plot guide indicating he lives by vegetarianism, and he likes curry, a dish which generally includes meat, although there are vegetarian versions. I think I'd need to see something that specifically says he's a vegetarian which Capcom espouses before I add it, but I'm not as opposed as I was before. JuJube (talk) 05:39, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- Regarding the likes/dislikes big, you have to remember even though Zangief is listed as having pretty women as a dislike, it's still up in the air if he's gay or not. So disliking something doesn't always equate to an extreme. Not saying you're wrong of course, just you'd be better off with a better cited point.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 07:24, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Abilities
editI suggest we have an abilities section, as I believe this removal guarantees the removal of the categories. So, how about it? Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 03:11, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah I kinda think that does need to go somewhere. JuJube (talk) 17:37, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
- JuJube, can you bring it back as an abilities section? Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 20:30, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks man. Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 23:59, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
- JuJube, can you bring it back as an abilities section? Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 20:30, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Images
editI don't agree with this edit. The one where he hovers demonstrates an ability, it goes in the ability section. The other is better off as a lead image since it is a clearer representation of the character. Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 19:01, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
Yoga teleport
editIIRC, on the Super NES (this probably holds for other platforms), the Yoga Teleport was available in SF2 Turbo/Hyper fighting but not in SF2, so I think we should add it to the article because the current phrasing lets think that this move was available in all versions. Maintenance Template
editAlright, I expanded the lead section. So if you're reading this, you might take a look and see if it summarizes the page adequately. If you have any comments, feel free to share. If it seems good, please remove the Maintenance Template. I don't know about the older Additional Citations template or if there are enough for this kind of article. Thanks!
