Hi @TheAafi, I added the verification tag because a number of the sources supporting key details are news websites of unclear reliability, and the criteria for verifiability entails the proviso that the information can be traced back to reliable sources. Obviously the appearance of more preferable scholarly sources is unlikely given his recent passing, but have any of: Alray, the Express, Saudi Gazette or Siaset Daily been confirmed as reliable? I don't think any of them appear on the main WP:RS/PS list and I have my doubts. Iskandar323 (talk) 08:02, 16 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Iskandar323, Thanks for your contributions dear friend. I'll get around the online sources and get back to you soon. Meanwhile I reverted your addition of dead-link tag because the link is accessible to me easily. Pinging Mccapra who had added this source to the article for possible consideration of other sources. ─ The Aafī(talk)08:24, 16 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Ah, you're right - my mistake on the dead link tag ... I thought the page had timed out, but I think it's a different issue. Is it a news source connected with one of the publications listed here or something else? Iskandar323 (talk) 08:31, 16 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi the link still works for me too. Dunya al-Watan isn’t one of the publications listed. It’s a Palestinian online news source. In terms of reports about Palestine or Middle Eastern politics it might not necessarily be a reliable source, but for a book review the key thing is that it’s independent. I see a lot of new Wikipedia articles about recently deceased Muslim scholars who are big fish in a small pond, with inflated titles, and the articles are usually written by their religious fanboys, sourced to the university of which he was the rector, the publishing house he ran, and magazines he edited. This guy isn’t one of those. Mccapra (talk) 09:25, 16 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
