Claypool Comics
editThere should be something about Diamond shutting down Claypool Comics. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 151.198.233.92 (talk • contribs) 20:08, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe there should/could be something in this article about Diamond's treatment of small press companies in general. The "open door" policy mentioned in the article has recently changed, for example, with their recent refusal to carry comics that don't have bar codes.--MythicFox 11:11, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- This is related to the tumultuous story of how they gained their monopoly on distribution in the 1990's. It's kind of interesting, and is briefly mentioned on Marvel Comics. A lot of small press publishers were hurt by that, along with all of the other smaller distribution companies.69.95.235.140 (talk) 17:18, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
Sub companies
editSeveral of the companies, perhaps all, listed as divisions of Diamond are in fact separate companies owned by Geppi, not by Diamond. 66.31.78.14 (talk) 18:42, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
wth linking
editWhy the heck is previews linked to this page?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.0.203.34 (talk) 03:44, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- Previews is the name of an important comic book industry catalog published by Diamond Comic Distributors. Apparently, no other article on Wikipedia grabbed the namespace first. If we need to disambiguate, we can certainly do so, but for now I see no reason to change. --GentlemanGhost (talk) 06:17, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- its spam, plain and simple. "previews" is a general enough term that doesnt connote the diamond catalog. it should be changed to "previews (catalog)" --Tehw1k1 (talk) 06:41, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
Current Anti-Trust Litigation
editMany comic book shop owners who have closed within the last decade are meeting and teaming up together to sue Diamond based on the Sherman Anti-Trust Act. Most of these guys don't use the Internet, but communicate by meeting each other. They have current hard-copy documents from the Justice Department looking at Diamond as a pyramid scheme. If you want further research, I suggest you get out and find a former owner of a comic shop and ask them why they closed their shop at a loss. All fingers will point back to Diamond's pyramid scheme. criticism of Diamond
editBlog of Boom! Studios includes a dig at Diamond about a 3% reorder penalty on backlist items. Commenentary about Boom move at http://comicsworthreading.com/2010/05/05/boom-steers-retailers-to-haven-distributors/ . Going to sleep now, tomorrow I will try to find criticism about Diamond raising minimum order amounts. --EarthFurst (talk) 13:18, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

Very confusing outlining in this article
editI just stumbled on the article and wanted to add the news about DC's announcment, but this is filled with very confusing outlining that clearly needs to be fixed. The History section seems to go on past into the Publishing section. I'm moving the 2020 shutdown up to History and adding a note about DC's announcement afterwards. Advertising
editthis article is shows promotion of organizations and products, any suggestions on how to improve it. Mthiyane 2 (talk) 21:26, 7 June 2023 (UTC)
- Some of the quotes in the "history" section seem like their purpose is to promote the founder's business decisions/strategies, so maybe remove those? LLWray (talk) 00:33, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
