Japanese Diamond Stakes
editI visited the Negishi Horse Racing Memorial Park in Yokohama a number of months ago, and took photos of signs describing the horses who live there. One of them, it is written, won the Diamond Stakes (G3) at the Tokyo Keiba-jo in 1994. But this article says it's an Irish race.
I know next to nothing about horseracing... happened to visit this Memorial Park because it was quite close to my house, and b/c I have a friend who's very very into it. Can you please explain the confusion/discrepancy? Is there a separate Group 3 Diamond Stakes held in Japan? Or is the Irish race sometimes held overseas, outside Ireland? Thanks. - Long time since you posted this, but hopefully you are still around. They are separate races - sometimes races in different countries have the same names but they aren't connected to one another.--Bcp67 (talk) 09:40, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
