Merger

The two articles deal with exactly the same thing - the Mark Fox song is an adaptation, as it's lyrics are almost exactly the same. The two articles should thus be merged into one article called simply "Diary of an Unborn Child" where both are discussed.--Mr Beale 20:25, 9 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Some of my points can be seen at Talk:Diary of an Unborn Child (song). I haven't seen a truly reliable source to prove that this piece originated in the Watchtower magazine — or that Watchtower even published it. There is nothing to suggest that it isn't a chainletter/meme which predates the Watchtower article, in which case, in the absence of evidence to suggest its notability, it should be AfD'd. -Severa (!!!) 00:16, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

They should be two seperate articles but linked to each other. The earliest I have seen "Diary of an Unborn Child" is in a book published for Freedom Village USA, Lakemont, NY, in a book titled "Teenager, Someone Does Care" and the book gives "A.L.L. About Issues, March 1984" credit. I am not sure what that is. Leif186 15:57, 5 June 2007 (UTC)LeifLeif186 15:57, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

"A.L.L." is an acronym for American Life League, a U.S. pro-life group, and ALL About Issues is/was apparently the name of one of their publications.[1] -Severa (!!!) 10:11, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

My father wrote a paper like this in grade school, in the early 70's. It was nearly identical, except that it was an in class assignment so the dates were not correct. I just can't help but wonder if he might be the original author, or whether someone else came up with the same story idea around the same time. I just had to say it though, can't keep it bottled up forever :) Robster4321 (talk) 18:43, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

The Mark Fox song, as a popular internet meme, warrants its own article, like "Badger Badger Badger." Do we have a source confirming that Fox directly adapted the song from the article? Or is the concept of a diary of a fetus just a really common idea in pro-life advocacy? Even so, to my knowledge, adaptations usually have articles independent of their source material, as in Pride & Prejudice (2005 film) from Pride and Prejudice. I think it's Diary of an Unborn Child (article) that warrants merging or deletion. -Severa (!!!) 00:07, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Nevermind. The lyrics are similar, right down to the, "tup-tup, tup-tup." So I don't think it's OR to suggest Fox adapted it. A version of the "Diary of an Unborn Child" poem I read a long time ago had substantially different words, so I was confused. -Severa (!!!) 00:23, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Could anyone point me to the lyrics please?
The lyrics that are under plot and the tup-tup tup-tup for one, are not in the article.
In the issue of adaption, when was this song made? JackSparrow Ninja 02:51, 14 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
