Can we get some more detail about how Jean-François Copé's proposal to "alter" (my Google-translated version of the referenced Le Monde article says "end") jus soli related to this case. According to her father, Leonarda was born in Italy, a fact that we should mention here. Would that have made her legal under jus soli, since France and Italy are part of the EU?
