31452-80-9 is not a correct CAS RN for this substance. The CAS RN for this substance is not registered yet. However, 29953-15-9 (SMILES: BrCC(CBr)(COCC1OC1)COCC2OC2) also called "dibromoneopentyl glycol diglycidyl ether" has the similar structure. --Leiem (talk) 07:14, 15 November 2024 (UTC)

There is defitely some confusion here, whether the bromine substituents are on the methyl groups vs on the carbinols (I used a naming style that clarifies the isomers, even if not proper IUPAC systematic). Given the non-specific name, there's a risk of echo-chamber among the databases. I would think CAS is authoritative for CAS RN. @GRALISTAIR: which isomer is actually meant here? It is the first structure. Brominated neopentyl glycol diglycidyl ether (Cas 31452-80-9) | Global Chemical Supplier I am going to get a couple of SDS from different suppliers. Since an SDS is a legal document I will take that as a reasonably good source. I made this in the plant twice but about 14 years ago was the last time as I moved company.
