Northern Songs entry
editOK, I'd like to know who cut-and-pasted the Northern Songs entry virtually word-for-word into this one?! (Radsay 22:51, 15 September 2005 (UTC))
Uh, that would be me. (Check the history tab to track this by edit and user). However since I was the one who added additional text to the Northern Songs article as well, I didn't see it as 'ripping off;' simply complementing. -- Barrettmagic 18:14, 18 September 2005 (UTC)
The Beatles' miscellanea
editCheck The Beatles' miscellanea to see if there is anything in it you can use. A lot of 'miscellanea' needs to be trimmed, as connecting articles get larger, so please feel free to use anything before certain sections get zapped into the ether... Elton John
edit"James signed Elton John (then known as Reginald Dwight) and his lyricist Bernie Taupin as untried unknowns in 1967 after his son, Stephen, who had been working with his father since 1963, found Dwight using their recording studios late at night without permission. Stephen, who had started the recording studios and opened a record production company called This Productions, formed DJM Records in 1969.[citation needed] Stephen instigated Dwight's adoption of the stage name "Elton John" and oversaw his first recording contract."
According to the Elton John article, John and Bernie Taupin joined DJM as songwriters in 1968, not 1967. It also says that Reginald Dwight adopted the stage name Elton John "six months" after meeting Taupin in 1967, with no indication of Stephen James having any involvement. As this is all unsourced, I'm taking out the last bit at least. Jah77 (talk) 10:53, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
