Military service data inconsistency?

edit

The side bar lists his service as 1943-1946, but the body of the article says he enlisted in 1944. Which one is correct? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 148.5.72.108 (talk) 16:33, 11 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

The current sources indeed say he enlisted in 1944. I've removed the years in the infobox until it can be reliably sourced. Stoarm (talk) 18:22, 17 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

If he served the years listed and where, he would also have received the American Theater Medal and the Victory Medal.

Picture of Van Dyke at the White House in 2021 is labeled as Van Dyke in December 2021, but it was taken in May. Suggested change: change label to "Van Dyke in May 2021"

Books written by Dick Van Dyke

edit

I am currently reading a book written by Dick Van Dyke that was published in 2015. It is not listed on his Wikipedia page. Here is the information: Van Dyke, Dick (2015). Keep Moving: And Other Tips and Truths About Aging. Hachette Books. ISBN 9781602862968. 199.30.87.11 (talk) 21:56, 6 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Added, thanks for pointing it out. Schazjmd (talk) 22:09, 6 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

In the second paragraph of the introduction it says "a role which earned him the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical" and links to the page for that award. This is inaccurate. He won the award for "Best Featured Actor in a Musical" as is correctly stated/linked lower in the "Radio and Stage" section under "Career". 199.192.158.242 (talk) 18:48, 16 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

He has now appeared on “Days of Our Lives”, though he isn’t even the oldest actor to appear on that show! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:645:4300:EE90:42B:77F:67CC:B81B (talk) 22:42, 14 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

I think that Dick’s son Barry should be included in the “relatives” section. He has his own Wikipedia page: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry_Van_Dyke 72.22.31.42 (talk) 12:08, 31 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

When mentioning Dick Van Dyke in the 1980 revival of "The Music Man," it should mention that it was NOT a Broadway revival, rather it was an off-Broadway revival at the New York City Center. 76.169.198.75 (talk) 04:08, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Not done for now: I appreciate your finding and understand your concern regarding that very specific line. but you must also look about that the line saying They moved to Atlanta, Georgia, in the early 1950s... was situated in Carrier section and your proposed line is not suitable at that section, rather push that for personal life section.
