Some links I intended to use as recources for this article but I'm not sure when I'll get back to this article (also some of them contradict each other, my mind isn't clear enough now to seriously analyse text) ---- Xil/talk 19:28, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
- I note that latvijasvestnesis.lv seems to have disappeared from the web. Reinistalk 15:32, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- Note that Latvijas Vēstnesis owns likumi.lv and lv.lv [2] domain as well ---- Xil/talk 22:12, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
Song
editThe tune looks to me same as the hymn Heil dir, o Oldenburg of the Oldenburg State, the text was written 1844 to the tune. It looks to me as if the tune is from Sweden. Please check. --Wolkensieb (talk) 20:56, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
- You mean [3] ? I think only the begining sounds similar and with no references linking the two it unfortunately is just a guess ~~Xil (talk) 11:29, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
- There is another. Sinfonia Funebre from Brazilian composer Jose Mauricio Nunes Garcia (composed c.1790) begins with 6 bars identical to the anthem. Artis.silinsh (talk) 06:47, 22 April 2023 (UTC)

Wrong "Preceded by"
editThe anthem of the Latvian SSR neither followed nor preceded Dievs svētī Latviju as the USSR never had legal sovereignty over Latvia. I would suggest that "Preceded by" be appropriately changed to the prior sovereign authority, the Russian empire, that is God_Save_the_Tsar!. VєсrumЬа ►TALK 05:24, 8 February 2021 (UTC)
