Merge with differential of a function

There was no thread here or at Talk:Differential of a function, so I will start one here. I am opposed to a merger. The purpose of this article, as it is currently written, is to organize a collection of related meanings of the word "differential" across diverse areas of mathematics, whereas the article at differential of a function is primarily devoted to the notion of the differential as understood in modern mathematical analysis, and so is only a very special case of the general concept. That said, I do not feel that the current article titles reflect their contents appropriately. A more satisfactory course of action may be to move this article to differential (mathematics) (over the redirect that currently occupies that location). Optionally we might then consider moving differential of a function here, although I don't see any pressing need to do so. Sławomir Biały (talk) 21:39, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
