Major?
editWhat does "major" mean? —Fleminra 18:27, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
- Okay. I removed "major". From reading the article, the reader can infer what "major" means without putting such words in their mouth. But DigitalGlobe, along with Space Imaging ("GeoEye"), has a major share of the commercial high-resolution remote sensing imagery market. However, as it is not a publicly-held company, financial specifics are somewhat difficult to obtain to quantify what its market-share is and exactly what "major" means. -Aude (talk | contribs) 20:48, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
Search for Jim Gray (and his boat)
editDoes anyone think that this subject should be brought up? Jim Gray, a computer scientist who worked for Microsoft, went missing in January 2007 while sailing off the coast of San Francisco. When Search and Rescue missions were having problems finding him DigitalGlobe helped by providing recent images of the oceanic area in which his boat could have been. A very large images were split up into section and searched by volunteering individuals in an attempt to find Jim Gray and/or his boat. Although the attempt failed to provide any discovery of Gray or his boat, I believe this was the first time such an endeavor had been taken. Fatrb38 (talk) 05:08, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
- Seems wikiworthy, if there is notable coverage by reliable source media. If you have a source, be bold and add it to the article. N2e (talk) 13:05, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
Meaningless "most powerful"?
editWV-1 was "the most powerful satellite when built". What does this mean? "Most powerful" is pretty meaningless. Best imaging resolution? Greatest magnification of the optics? Greatest aperture? Not, presumably, most power consumption by a spacecraft! Suggest rephrase along the lines of: WV-1 was, when built, the commercial earth imaging spacecraft with the best resolving power. Matt Whyndham (talk) 08:52, 22 August 2014 (UTC)
- I removed this sentence, since no-one had come up with any clarification. Matt Whyndham (talk) 10:16, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

Article is unclear
editIf an image is labeled "USDA bureau of farms," is that a satellite image, or an aerial image? Needs a better explanation. 2601:281:CC80:5AE0:101:31EB:1FA8:486D (talk) 18:37, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
