Review #1 Matt Kleinjan This is a very nice looking article. I really like the pictures of the reactions with the structures. It helps the reader get a good understanding of what is happening in the reactions. The written sections are interesting but a little short. Perhaps you can expand on some of the properties of the compound in the introduction. You also mention how the compound was polymerised to make methyl isoprene. Perhaps you could explain this reaction in the reactions section. Also, I would suggest making a section discussing some of the uses for 2,3-dimethyl-1,3-butadiene. Everything else looks very good, the chembox has a lot of good information and you have a solid list of references.

Review #2 Katie McEvoy The graphics really add to the quality of your page and make it stand out from other pages. I also like the the information you included on the background of the chemical, because I know a lot of people had trouble finding this information. I think it would help to include the mechanism for the synthesis of the chemical. Showing step by step reactions would help readers better understand how the chemical is formed. Also it might help readers to understand a little more about the Diels-Alder reaction. The rest of the information looks solid. Good job!Mcevoykt (talk) 02:45, 2 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Review #3 Cathleen Cahill

This article is very well done. Your chem box is very extensive and your information is clear and concise. I would suggest adding a little more about the uses of 2,3- dimethyl -1,3 butadiene. Also, I would add a little more about the Diels-Alder reaction. I would suggest explaining it a little further so that it can be better understood. I really liked how you have pictures of the reactions. Otherwise this has a lot of great information! Cmcahil2 (talk) 05:58, 2 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Move to dimethylbutadiene

edit

I propose to move this article to dimethylbutadiene. Aside from 2,3- isomer, the other isomers are penta- or hexadienes. My impression is that people who use this stuff do not use the term "2,3-Dimethyl-1,3-butadiene". Comments including disagreements welcome.--Smokefoot (talk) 13:08, 18 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Agreed I think people are more likely to search for it by that name, at the very least put in a redirect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Project Osprey (talkcontribs) 14:23, 18 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
Support Redirect(s) added in the meantime. Tomásdearg92 (talk) 16:08, 19 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
