editI'll be back to fix it up, but am having trouble finding info. The town is developing quickly, so hopefully more sources will become available. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 04:58, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
- I think that this town refers to the county seat and downtown of Ding'an County. Its name is Dingcheng, not Ding'an. See this page at the official website of Ding'an County --Pengyanan (talk) 12:39, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
- According to http://www.dingan.gov.cn/da/zjda/201111/t20111121_579344.html, the old center next to the Nandu River is Dingcheng, but the whole city is now Ding'an, Ding'an County, Hainan. So, I suggest we move this page to Ding'an, Ding'an County and have a section or paragraph within that talks about "Dingcheng", the old city center. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:41, 19 July 2013 (UTC)
- I dislike that idea because, as you should also be aware, it is almost insurmountably difficult to determine what constitutes a city's urban area, not to mention metro area. I suggest the status quo of referring to official divisions remains in place; see NBS. GotR Talk 02:35, 19 July 2013 (UTC)

- Ding'an is a county, not a city. The county's name is Ding'an, and its county seat's name is Dingcheng. I cannot find any claim that the whole city is now Ding'an, Ding'an County at http://www.dingan.gov.cn/da/zjda/201111/t20111121_579344.html . It just says that Dingcheng, which is at the south of Nandu River, is the political, economic, and cultural center of Ding'an County (南渡江南岸的定城是定安县的政治、经济、文化中心), and does not mention that Dingcheng is the old center. And According to http://www.dingan.gov.cn/da/zjda/201111/t20111121_579345.html , the town's name is still Dingcheng. --Neo-Jay (talk) 22:12, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
