Ah! I think there may be a typo in the article; it says the Director General post was created in 1965 but I believe it was actually 1995; this answers my previous question. I'm fixing it in the article. Nimur17:59, 18 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
When I created the article, I think I took Director-General of the WTO and Director-General of the GATT to be much the same thing, hence saying that it started in 1965 (when GATT was formed). I think I based this on the WTO page, here, but I don't know if people want to follow that. -- Vardion05:37, 19 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala will not be sworn into this office until 1 March. However, I don't know how to edit the infobox to reflect the fact that until that date, she is not incumbent, or to imply that date is in the future. I recognize that this problem will solve itself in about two weeks, but is there a way to fix this in the time being? Thanks. AllegedlyHuman (talk) 15:07, 16 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
