Confusing mix of US--Centric and Anglocentric terminology
editThe original article seemed to get totally befuddled by the fact that "Director" is used to mean different things in different contexts globally.
It initially defaulted to discussing the title of "Director" in the context of an American structure where CEO's and CxO's are the most senior members of the company, then without providing any further context moves on to discussing the nature of directorships in a legal sense in a manner which seems Anglocentric; before finally discussing the title usage and heirarchy which would be more normal in the context of an older UK or European business, where CEO is replaced with "Managing Director", and the CxO's with "x Director".
It has now been edited to clearly address the fact that the title "Director" is used in two entirely distinct ways by different sets of english-language nomenclature in use by different businesses, which have links to both business size, global reach and geographic base.
