Least used

I wonder which are the least used Merit Badges? (unsigned by 24.214.192.86)

The ones on this list are discontinued. They are here because BSA to split a mb apart, merge it with others, or the mb was little used. See Merit badge (Boy Scouts of America) for a current mb listing. Of current ones, things like Astronomy, Pulp and Paper, etc are little used. Rlevse 13:12, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

The Thanks badge

Thanks Badge

This is a badge, but not a merit badge of the BSA. There is a distinct difference. Also, the link you show is from the UK, not America. Rlevse 03:18, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

Rock Lifting

The list of discontinued badges includes a badge called Rock Lifting, apparently in use from 1997 to 2004. I was an active Scout during that time and can consequently say that no such badge existed; furthermore, it is not on the list at the link referenced at the bottom.VandySOG 08:21, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

Signalling

There is an error in the article:

Signaller 1910 Replaced by Signalling in 1911

Signalling 1911 Replaced Signaller in 1991

According to "Merit Badge Field Guide" by Fred Duersch, it's always been Signalling. In addition to that, consensus is that never made patches, though they had paper designs, for the original 14 MBs they conceived in 1910. Farm Records and Bookeeping (1928-1958), became Farm Records (1959-1979), which was merged into Farm and Ranch Management in 1979

(1979-1987) along with...

Farm Arrangement (1960-1973), became Farm Arrangements (1974-1979), which was ALSO merged into Farm and Ranch Management in 1979

Stalker/Stalking?

is this for real? if so what is it? -- paul

It was a MB in early days of Scouting, that was for Scouts learning to stalk animals in the woods. It did not include hunting or harming the animals. Rlevse 02:37, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

Reintroduced for 2010 only, but renamed Tracking. In fact, the original Stalking merit badge pamphlet went to some lengths to encourage taking photographs, but not otherwise disturb the animals. --Wws (talk) 05:39, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
