"Washcloth"

edit

I noticed that Washcloth redirects here. Up until a couple minutes ago I called these things washcloths, but the dictionary says a washcloth is a small towel for your face https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/washcloth . So either the redirect needs to be changed or the dictionary is incomplete and a synonym should be added. Akeosnhaoe (talk) 00:43, 16 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

This is not a tea towel

edit

A tea towel and a dish cloth are two different things, what is described here is a dishcloth, used for washing dishes and counters and the like. It is a square. A tea towel is not that!

This is a tea towel - https://www.countryroad.com.au/cr-logo-australian-cotton-tea-towel-60224898-9084 . It is larger then a dishcloth and is used for drying things, and cannot be made of microfibre cloth. Balaga Xx (talk) 12:15, 6 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Seconding this. This article confuses cleaning and drying, and needs to be split into an article for dishcloths ans one for tea towels. If the word dishcloth in the US sense is indeed used for both (which I can't imagine but what do I know) then the two articles need to cross-reference each other. At the very least the article needs two distinct sections, one for dishcloths/whatever piece of cloth is used for drying and one for tea towels/pieces of cloth used for drying. But given that the cloths for cleaning and drying have very different characteristics it really needs to be split in two different articles. Suhusa2 (talk) 07:57, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
