Bias

edit
  • Why does this timeline primarily document the firings by the two most recent Republican presidents, yet largely ignore those by Democrats? This custom began when Jimmy Carter came to office and he cleaned house, continued under Ronald Reagan, George Bush Sr., peaked under Bill Clinton, and continued under Barack Obama. This article portrays a very biased account. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.215.171.98 (talk) 00:09, 10 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

To do list

edit
  • Washinton Post list of names at times to be added
Need to add the names from this timeline Graphic Timeline May 17, 2007.
  • Replace cites to Yahoo with same AP or wire service articles published elswhere
Yahoo times out repidly, but the wire service articles are widely published. Check also Breitbart.com AP wire item. -- Yellowdesk
  • Check if all cites to other timeline articles can cite back to the original sources
These other timelines cite original published sources. This article should too: check cites to U.S. News & World Report, TPM, Washington Post. -- Yellowdesk
  • Check citations to blogs, follow their cited sources
Gonzaleswatch and Talking Points Memo, among others. -- Yellowdesk

Include Years in months headers

edit

It will aid the future edit summaries, and help keep the editors organized (and perhaps help readers) to put the year with every month. Objections? -- Yellowdesk 21:50, 17 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

None from me. Go ahead and do it. Remember 22:26, 17 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Todd Graves

edit

Wow, great work on this page, guys. I noticed that you didn't metion the firing of Todd Graves in March 2006. I know that dismissal became an issue only recently, so it's not totally clear where it fits in, but I just wanted to see if that omission was intentional, or if you planned on including him (perhaps you are waiting for a secondary source timeline that includes him?) -RustavoTalk/Contribs 18:43, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

No intention; just an oversight. Feel free to add it. It's just hard to keep track of everything. Remember 22:04, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

The tense of the sentences

edit

I note an inconsistency in the tense of the entries, e.g. "February 2006 - so-and-so does this" vs. "February 2006 - so-and-so did this". Suggest these all be consistent, but not sure which way to go (recommend the least labor approach...). Bdushaw 19:40, 27 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

:For the long run, the simple past is best. Jim ran, Bob said, Joe resigned. Monica met. Alberto denied. -- Yellowdesk 20:26, 27 May 2007 (UTC) Reply
I take it back. Let's leave them alone until we need to have uniformity. the "Past continuing" tense using the present tense seems to work just fine. -- Yellowdesk 19:39, 29 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Short article: Re: Daniel J.
